ABOUT TOYBOX POMS

In 1974 I saw my first Pom and it took me nearly two years to find one, a tiny little female  called Mitzi, who lived to be 16yrs, but too small to breed from, but I was hooked on the breed by then and was on the look out for something to show and breed from.

I had bred and shown Purebred Arabian horses and also Persian Cats with some success, and I was lucky to find an adult bitch called Westmuir Suzy and a super little dog call Rocarr Spice of Life. He was Saymar and Cynpeg breeding, two top kennels of their day, and superb quality but he wouldnt show so it was my lucky day.

From these two I bred  Toybox Small Print, who went on to sire Ch Toybox Platignum Phantom a huge winner in the U.K. and very potent sire, a dog that is is almost every pedigree of todays Poms.

In one of the first litters,  I bred two very well know Champions, the world Famous Ch Toybox Ginger Rogers and her litter brother Ch Toybox Firecracker.  Ginger Rogers was a bitch challenge twice at CRUFTS, and BoB and group Finalist.  Firecracker was a Multi BIS winner.

Ch Ginger Rogers son Australian Ch Toybox Hollywood Hero was a big winner in Australia so the dynasty carried on.   Several Champions followed  on quickly including Ch Toybox Hazelnut and Ch Toybox Tough Cookie.
